What is astrology about? It is a long way from the slick generalities dashed off by "Poseitta the Gypsy" or some other modern practitioner of Sun Sign readings to catch the next edition of her newspaper or magazine. In contrast, it is a highly complex and technical structure whose “practioners"requires a considerable knowledge of mathematics and astronomy.
Necessary Input
In order to cast a proper horoscope, I will need to know: The exact hour and minute you were born, and where. When you provide me with this information I can formulate:
Your individual zodiac, 10 Planet's with there proper sign and house placements.)
The Ascendant (the zodiac sign rising on the east side of the horoscope circle).
The Descendant (the point opposite the Ascendant).
The highest point the sun will reach - known as the Midheaven, or Medium Coeli, or MC-on the day you were born.
The opposite point to the Mid-heaven, known as the Nadir.
The relationship-neutral, harmonious, disharmonious-between various planets described by the house placement and ruler- ship of the planets at the time of your birth.
Each sign of the zodiac is held to be bound up with certain individual characteristics:
Aries, I am Attitude,courage, impetuosity, energy;
Taurus,I have Attitude, patience, persistence, obstinacy;
Gemini, I think Attitude,progressiveness, cleverness, instability, and so on.

Astrology was originally developed in Mesopotamia to predict the fate of the king and the country rather than to cast individual horoscopes. An astrolabe (left) was the instrument used for calculation. The forecasts given on these tablets (right) were derived from making observations of the moon.

The complications do not cease there. The earth turns on its axis every 24 hours. Each of these 24-hour days is divided in turn into 12 astrological `houses” which have no astronomical foundation but, at the same time, do- like the 12 signs of the zodiac- possess certain influences:
House No. 1 is associated with development of personality, environment, childhood, physical body and constitution.
